Cyclist dies after hit and run crash in Hitcham

A man has died following a crash in Hitcham today.

Two rapid response vehicles, an ambulance crew and the Essex and Herts Air Ambulance rushed to Finborough Road at around 1.30pm to reports a cyclist had been involved in a collision with a car.

The road remains closed while investigation work is carried out by police.

Officers believe the cyclist was struck by a vehicle which failed to stop – and now they are urgently appealing for the driver to come forward.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call the Serious Collision Investigation Team on 101 quoting CAD 179 of today (November 29).
