Cyclist dies in Stoke Mandeville after being hit by train

A female cyclist has been killed after being hit by a train at a rail crossing in Stoke Mandeville, Buckinghamshire.

The incident happened at 1.15pm this afternoon at the Mandeville Road level crossing.

An air ambulance, two ambulances and five police cars attended the incident and CPR was performed on the adult. However she died at the scene.

A British Transport Police spokesman said: “Emergency services are at the scene and officers are currently working to establish the full circumstances of what happened.”

The rail line is operated by Chiltern Railways, and it is thought that the train was en route to Aylesbury.
