Cyclist injured in collision with skip lorry in Putney

A skip lorry driver was arrested on suspicion of careless driving after a collision with a cyclist in Putney.

The 35-year-old cyclist was taken to hospital after the accident in West Hill, close to the entrance to an Esso petrol station.

He is now recovering from his injuries at home.

The 34-year-old lorry driver stopped at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of careless driving. He has been bailed pending further enquiries to a date in early July.

Det Con John Roberts said: “This stretch of road was fairly busy with commuters at the time of the incident and I would urge anyone who may have seen any of the parties in the moments leading up to the collision, or the collision itself, to contact police.”

The accident happened at around 7.15am on Friday, May 31.
