A boy racer’ who ran over and killed two teenage girls has been jailed for nine years and disqualified from driving for seven.

CTC's view: 

This driver should without a doubt be banned from driving for life. If ‘one of the most serious cases of dangerous driving seen by the courts for a very long time’ doesn’t result in a lifetime ban, what case will?

Dazzled van driver cleared of causing trucker's death (10/04/12)

A van driver has been cleared of causing the death of a timber delivery man after telling a jury he was momentarily blinded by the early morning sun when he crashed.

CTC's view: 

Yet another case of a driver failing to adjust their driving in response to weather conditions and causing a wholly avoidable death. Being dazzled by sunlight should not be a get out clause.

Driver who hit a cyclist, 2 pedestrians and a bus fined £300 and banned for 6 months (08/07/13)

A BMW driver who hit a cyclist and two pedestrians, then lodged his car into a double decker bus, while astride a low wall, has been disqualified from driving for six months and fined £300 for driving without due care and attention.

An elderly woman has been seriously injured in a collision with a cyclist in Ripon.

CTC's view: 

CTC does not condone dangerous cycling and would like to point out that this is a rare occurrence.

Investigations are underway into the death of a woman who was hit by a car in the Crofton area of Wakefield. Officers were called to Satingley Lane, near to the Slipper public house, following reports that a pedestrian had been struck by a blue coloured Ford Fiesta car.
