Woman cyclist killed in bus crash in Portsmouth

A WOMAN has died after a cycle crash on Clarence Parade.
The woman, who is believed to have been in her 40s, died at Southampton General Hospital at 4.30pm, after colliding with a bus.

5 Men jailed for death of cyclist in Orpington (10/08)

Five men, including one from south east London, have been jailed for the manslaughter of a bank worker who was thrown from his bicycle and killed as they raced along a residential road.

Speeding driver who killed cyclist avoids jail

Father-of-one Brian Taylor, 29, suffered fatal injuries after being hit while he cycled to work in the early hours of the morning on 15 November 2008.

Driver gets 180 hours community service for using his vehicle "like a weapon"

The article explains the sentence handed down to a driver who drove at a cyclist in the midst of a row. The driver received 180 hours of community service. This seems like a very light punishment considering that the Sheriff stated, “It would appear that this is the result of a lapse of self control. You were effectively using your vehicle as a weapon and that is a very serious matter.”

Woman cleared of killing a cyclist after appearing to faint behind the wheel

A 4×4 driver who ran down a cyclist, hit another cyclist, ran into a car and then crashed against a lamp-post was acquitted of causing death by dangerous driving after claiming that she had fainted behind the wheel.

Six-year-old hit by car at crossing, luckily not badly hurt. Young driver of car wasn’t paying attention and drove through a red light.

The car driver was sent on a compulsory driver education scheme.

This case concerns the conviction of a driver, whose left-turning lorry drove into the back of a cyclist. He left the scene and tried to hide the bike and the body.
