2 jailed over pedestrian death (July 2012)

Two men have been sentenced for their part in the death of a 59-year-old man following a fatal road traffic collision.

Richard Taylor died after being struck by a car as he crossed the A650 Keighley Road in Manningham in July 2012.

Ishan Khan was sentenced to six years for causing death by dangerous driving and attempting to pervert the course of justice. He failed to stop at the scene of the crash or contact the emergency services.

Javed Ali Zaman was sentenced to 12 months for attempting to pervert the course of justice. He also failed to help Mr Taylor and supported Khan’s dishonest version of events.
